About LAND

LAND is an environmental awareness project run by Scottish charity EcoArt who will be running a flag design and making workshop. They are looking for people who want to participate and send a signal to the world.

Flags are a traditional way of signalling at sea and these flags are designed to express and signal environmental concerns and future hopes. When flown from a tall ship they carry a spectacular and powerful message as well as adding excitement and colour.

In 2021 the flags were flown on tall ship La Malouine at a spectacular LAND event in Palnackie, Dumfries and Galloway and at COP 26 in Glasgow as a message to world leaders. In 2022 the flags will be flown in Kirkudbright, at Nithraid in Dumfries and on tall ship La Malouine at The Bell Raid in Annan. The flags will travel to Forres for the Dandelion Festival and will be flown on tall ship The Lady of Avenel in Buckie before travelling to COP27 in Egypt in November.
