Oi Musica, Golden Grooves Street Collective, and musicians from Moray Concert Brass are putting together a high-energy finale performance for Culture Day Forres, part of the Findhorn Bay Festival 2026 – and they are looking for brass players and aspiring drummers to get involved.

About the Artists

Hailing from Edinburgh, 9-piece Golden Grooves Street Collective play joyous street music for sunny days, outdoor fun and dancing! Oi Musica is Scotland’s leading street band organisation, bringing music to life outdoors, in communities, at festivals and with players of all ages and abilities. They are experienced educators, show devisers and fun creators.

Teaming up with players from Moray Concert Brass, this is an exciting workshop and performance opportunity for local brass players and drummers – not to be missed!

What to Expect?

Expect a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, plenty of encouragement, and the buzz of being part of a big inter-generational band. Across a workshop and public performance, you’ll take part in a fun, supportive musical experience led by professional street-band musicians.

Workshop Session
Meet the musician team, learn the tunes, build confidence, and get a feel for street-band style playing. The workshop is designed to be welcoming, energetic and fun, helping everyone prepare for the big Culture Day performance.

Culture Day Performance
Take to the stage as part of Culture Day Forres for a lively, public outdoor performance — joining Golden Grooves Street Collective in a joyful, high-energy finale that brings the whole community together.

Who Can Take Part?

No matter your experience level, this is a chance to be part of something fun, inclusive and memorable. The musician team is experienced in working with mixed ages and abilities and access needs will be catered for. 

Participation is free and is open to:

  • Suitable for young people and adults, 10 years+
  • Drummers & Percussionists — all levels welcome (instruments provided)
  • Brass Players — at least 1 year of playing experience (please bring your own instrument)

Places are limited to 40 brass players and 30 drummers. Make sure to reserve your spot to get involved.

How to Join

Taking part is simple:

  1. Check you meet the participation requirements above
  2. Complete the sign-up form (required for all participants). Parents/guardians should complete the form for under 18s.
  3. We’ll use your information to plan for the group and support any access needs.
