Visual Art

Born and brought up along the North East town of Forres, Hannah is a photographer specialising in documentary, art, and portrait photography.

She uses photography to explore her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis. Perceiving Identity is a photographic journey that explores Hannah’s feelings of uncertainty, fear, loss and liberation. The works are an attempt towards dealing with notions of identity as she looks for clarity and hope in her diagnosis. Hannah’s intention is to raise awareness of multiple sclerosis and use photography as a tool to reach out “to help listen to the complex and unique stories of illness” through the use of visual language.

Please be considerate of the hospital staff and patients as you visit this exhibition.

The photographs...share this theme of disconnection, of a breakdown of what is essentially communication between the mind and the body.
