David Paul Jones and Ben Harrison grew up on the west coast of Scotland and east of England respectively, falling in love with similar music. David re-interprets classic 80s songs including Smalltown Boy, Song to the Siren and Boys Don’t Cry interwoven with Ben’s stories of that wonderful, troubled, exhilarating and oddly innocent decade. The evening is an open-hearted, emotive, wry dive into the world of mix-tapes, Walkmans, fumbled early encounters, Carlsberg on the carpet, sleepovers and long nights hanging out at the bus stop with nothing to do but smoke and dream…
No stranger to Findhorn Bay Festival, Ben directed The Buke of the Howlat in 2018 and this show is a sequel (or prequel) of sorts to his successful 2022 collaboration with Amy Duncan, Undertow Overflow. Directed by the multi-award-winning director and former 80s DJ, Scott Johnston.
Audiences are invited to stay and join for an After Show 80s Disco (1-hour post-performance).
