Salt House

Salt House has been a mainstay of the folk scene for almost a decade and comprises Festival favourites Jenny Sturgeon and Lauren MacColl along with Ewan MacPherson. Salt House performs new songs that sound as if they’ve always been here. Ancient ballads revived. Poems given the melodies they’ve long deserved. Songs about place, politics, landscape and birds. In the second half, they will perform Riverwoods – a collection of songs and instrumentals inspired by the journey of the Atlantic salmon and the biodiversity of our river systems – written in response to the feature-length documentary of the same name by re-wilding charity, SCOTLAND: The Big Picture. Presented in partnership with Findhorn Nairn Lossie Rivers Trust as part of the Findhorn Watershed Initiative.

Free Join the team from the Findhorn, Nairn and Lossie Rivers Trust for a pre-show gathering to find out about their work on the Findhorn Watershed Initiative; our local project coordinating action for nature recovery and connection at a landscape-scale. The team will share about their journey to date engaging with landowners, land managers, and the local communities from source to sea of the extraordinary River Findhorn.
