Deiseil: Dancing in Time

Deiseil Airson Dannsa

An immersive journey through stepdance history, told through fiddle, feet, Gaelic song and storytelling, from award-winning director Gerry Mulgrew.

Music, Theatre, Dance

An immersive and compelling journey across centuries of tradition, told through fiddle, feet, Gaelic song, and storytelling. This work powerfully explores how stepdance was nearly lost in Scotland, sustained instead in Cape Breton, and traces the lifelong friendship woven through its revival here. Groundbreaking new work from award-winning theatre director Gerry Mulgrew and Deiseil Airson Dannsa founders, dancer Alison Carlyle and musician Amy Geddes.

Stepdance workshop

As part of Deiseil: Dancing in Time, there will be a Stepdance Workshop: Sun 4 Oct, 10 – 11.30am, Duffus Village Hall. From £10. Booking required. Join Alison and Amy to discover the joy of Scotland’s percussive dance form, try steps and hear tunes from the show. For more information visit here
