Tender Exchange

Radical Ritual

Whisper something that matters into a carved wooden heart and pass it on, as Tender Exchange turns personal words into a collective listening ritual.

Exhibitions

Pause. Listen. Connect.

What’s in your heart?

In the rush of everyday life, Tender Exchange invites you to slow down and share a moment of human connection. Take a carved wooden heart and whisper into it something that matters to you – a hope, a memory, a truth, a dream or a thought you would like held with care. Then pass the heart to someone you trust. As each person adds their voice, the heart gently beats in their hands. With every contribution, its rhythm changes, carrying the presence of those who came before. When the heart is full, it signals that it is ready to return.

Back at the installation, your words become part of a collective listening ritual – a shared space where stories, feelings and experiences are gathered and woven together. At a time when division and disconnection can feel overwhelming, Tender Exchange offers a simple but powerful act of community. Each whispered message becomes part of a growing tapestry of voices, reminding us that we are connected through our hopes, fears, memories and dreams.

Radical Ritual creates participatory folk artworks that reweave connection in a fragmented world. Through playful and meaningful shared experiences, they invite people to gather, be seen and heard, and build deeper relationships with one another and the places they share.

Their work opens spaces for belonging, imagination and collective possibility, celebrating the power of community, creativity and care.

“A way for people to connect even when they don’t know each other.”
