Wine About It

Wine About It presents a collection of work developed by Codie Anne over two years, emerging from her dissertation research into the longstanding distinctions and controversies between art and craft, with a particular focus on crochet and fibre arts. The body of work was recognised with both the SSA New Graduate Award and the Millers Art Prize. Crochet is Codie’s chosen medium and a central part of her artistic practice. As a technique that cannot be fully replicated by machines, crochet becomes an act of resistance against industries and systems that prioritise automation, mass production and commodification. In a world shaped by fast fashion, artificial intelligence and a fine art market that often distances itself from labour and making, each stitch asserts the value of human skill, time and touch.
